Hockey Manawatu Membership Card Process

Hockey Manawatu would like to notify those that are new to our regions, or visiting and also those who may have forgotten, of our processes surrounding alcohol consumption in our club rooms.  Hockey Manawatu has a Club Liquor Licence; this licence has strict compliances around the supply and sales of alcohol. Consequences include fines to staff and Bar Managers, trade restrictions/bans or loss of our liquor licence completely.

So please appreciate our obligations and procedures that we must follow.  To meet our obligations we must issue Hockey Manawatu Membership Cards each year, this card must be presented by the member when they want to purchase and/or consume alocholic beverages.

All financial members will be issued with a card through their Club or Division.  The card will be Active for a 12 month period from 1 April 2016 to 31st March 2016.

FAMILY / GUESTS:  Obviously we appreciate that some members will have family/friends that wish to come and watch them and wish to purchase a drink.  For these visitors we have Associate Member Cards available.  Supporters and family members who are not club, division, volunteers, umpires can become an Associate Member for $10.00.  This will allow them to receive all membership sponsor benefits.

If you are playing or in uniform it is fairly obvious to our bar staff that you are a member, but for your partners, guests, family members, parents and care providers (whom are not associate members) we will adhere to the following procedures:

Hockey Manawatu can only sell & supply liquor for consumption on these premises to:

  • Any member of the club;or
  • Any person who is a guest of, and is accompanied by, a member of a club;or
  • Any member of any club with which the club has an arrangement for reciprocal visiting rights.

No other persons shall be sold liquor

No liquor will be sold to a member buying liquor for a non-member to consume on premises unless the non-member is signed in as a guest.


Evidence of age may also be required & requested at any time and management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at any time.
