JOB VACANCY - Participation and Development Officer

We are looking for a people-oriented Participation and Development Officer who can plan and deliver programmes that will support growth of hockey in our region.

About the role

Reporting to the GM you will be responsible for planning and delivery of hockey participation and development programmes in the region.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Delivery of community hockey programmes that provide opportunities for participants, coaches, umpires and volunteers at all levels.
• Establish relationships within the hockey community and help develop an inclusive, positive community culture within Hockey Manawatu.
• Enable long-term development of hockey within Manawatu including but not limited to delivery of participation programmes, talent development, representative programmes, coach development, umpire and officials development and strengthening capability.

You have experience coaching children and adults, and are confident and comfortable with juggling a variety of responsibilities that come with a job like this.

You’re organised. You know other people’s schedules as well as your own and you’re able to communicate with anyone.

You’re competent in planning, implementing and delivering participation and development sport programmes.

You’re self-motivated and enjoy being the “go-to” person of a busy and friendly team.

This is a full time role. Due to the nature of our programmes, flexibility of working hours is essential, including some evenings and over weekends.
