Hockey Manawatu are excited to announce our revamped Under 13 and Under 15 Pathway Programmes. The aim is to increase our skillset, fitness and tactical awareness at the junior ages. We have broken each programme to 3 stages:

STAGE 1

Tryouts and Trainings

Each person that attends the tryouts will be placed into a team. Under 15s is a Tiered structure. There will be Sunday trainings with HMI coaches focusing on skill acquisition, skill mastery, tactics and game awareness. This leads to STAGE 2.

STAGE 2

Stage 2 is Tournaments

The U13 Boys and Girls will be in Whanganui (26th - 28th September) with the option of playing full field as well.

The U15 Boys will play in Wellington (1st - 4th October) in a Tiered format.

The U15 Girls will play in the Wairarapa (1st - 4th October) in a Tiered format.

At the end of the Tournaments, 25 players from each age group will be invited to enter STAGE 3

STAGE 3

Stage 3 is an extension programme over summer lead by experienced HMI and guest coaches. This works hand in hand with summer commitments and leads to a PRE SEASON TOUR in the April School Holidays 2026.

Tryouts for STAGE 1 are on the 3rd August at Massey Turf.

Registrations close on the 31 July.

U13s as of 1st January in Year 7-8 in 2025
